St. Stephen's Episcopal Church

Share a story

St Stephen's Episcopal Parish is a historic, downtown congregation with a multi-floor building that has a variety of spaces. The building is accessible by elevator and stairs, and the full kitchen in the basement hosts a twice-weekly free community meal. The parish worships in the breadth of the Episcopal tradition, and people from many places in Berkshire County participate in the worship and services of the parish.

St. Stephen's Table

Meal Programs

St Stephen's Table hosts a twice-weekly dinner (Thursday and Friday) for people in the community. Teams drawn from the parish and the wider community serve under the guidance of the Table Coordinator. Twice a month, there is an additional meal at Saturday noon (second and fourth Saturdays) either as a "brown bag takeout" lunch or as a sit-down meal.

Lay Pastoral Care

Faith Formation

Lay pastoral caregiving is another key ministry of St Stephen's. Hospital visits are made daily by a parish-trained layperson, and Lay Eucharistic Visitors take communion out to those who are homebound or in nursing facilities on a regular basis. This ministry is overseen by our Lay Pastoral Care Coordinator and the clergy of the parish.
