We’d like to welcome you to visit and worship with us any time. Our congregation is one of fellowship and fun and we welcome visitors from all walks of life.
Christ Church is a part of the Episcopal Church in the Diocese of West Missouri. We began as a small number of faithful followers in 1857 who gathered to worship, then grew to an organized congregation in 1868. A wooden structure was built in 1872 and later sold in 1892. Ground was broken for the current native limestone edifice in 1893, but the cornerstone was not laid until 1899.
We are located in the heart of Warrensburg in Johnson County, Missouri, home of the University of Central Missouri. Please browse through our website to learn more about our worship, our many ministries, and our faith community. If you’d like more information about our church, our preschool, or the Episcopal Church, feel free to e-mail us. You can also Follow us on Facebook and Twitter for news and events.
Our service incorporates hymns and chants as a customary part of worship. Our worship is from The Book of Common Prayer and occasionally other approved formats. We follow the liturgical season as set forth by the Episcopal Church and use the Revised Common Lectionary for readings from Sacred Scripture. We print everything in our service bulletin so no one gets lost!
We also have a school!
The Early Childhood Opportunity Center has a mission to provide each child with an opportunity to learn and grow in a nurturing, Christian environment that promotes the optimal development of each individual child. We strive to prepare them with skills and preschool education needed for Kindergarten. They are open Monday - Friday 6:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and serve birth through 5th grade.
