St. Paul's Rock Creek

Share a story

The mission of St. Paul's Rock Creek Episcopal Parish is to be one family in Christ using our gifts and resources to respond to the spiritual, social, and human needs of our parish and community.

A vibrant liturgy is important to us at St. Paul’s. And caring for each other, building strong families, reaching out to those who are experiencing tough times, and seeing how we can make a difference in our world through the works of charity, mercy and justice - these are the hallmarks of our living faith.

St. Paul’s serves its neighborhood, the District of Columbia and the wider world. Parishioners, clergy and staff participate in numerous local ministries including Transitional Housing, Samaritan Ministry of Greater Washington, the Capitol Area Food Bank, Martha’s Table and the Bishop John Walker T. Walker School for Boys.

The parish supports outreach to the Diocese of Haiti by assisting in the work of St. Patrick’s Episcopal Church in Washington, D. C.

Aging, Health and Wellbeing

As Christians, we live out our faith by the way we care for each other. It is an extension of our worship, and it is especially true in times of sorrow, hardship, crisis, joy, and celebration.

We become the beloved community by sharing with each other our time, talent, and treasure. Our ongoing care and support of each other through our various In-Reach ministries strengthens the bonds of community.

Pastoral care involves:

Visiting parishioners in the hospital.

Visiting shut-ins and making telephone calls.

The Rector’s care for those in need.

Consoling those experiencing the grief of loss.

Taking Holy Communion to shut-ins.

Providing meals and transportation.
