Welcome to St. James' Episcopal Church at Mount Vernon!

Sunday worship is at 8:00 am and at 10:15 am. We invite you to worship and serve, as we celebrate in word and action the Spirit-filled life God has given us through Jesus Christ.

Child Care Available
Although infants and small children are welcome to stay with their parents during worship, a nursery is available for the young ones. In addition, a glass-walled sitting room at the back of the church provides a place for parents and fussy children to sit while still being a part of the service.

Adult Forum in Braxton Hall
Biblical study topics encourage a thoughtful crowd and there is always coffee and doughnuts to share as well as a lively and relevant discussion led by a member of the congregation.

Children's Sunday School
Sunday School activities for Kindergarten through Fifth Grade. All young people join their families in church during the "Passing of the Peace" in order to share communion together.

An opportunity for Bible Study and spiritual conversation in a small group. We often watch a scholarly video together, which leads to spirited discussion.
