Share a story

The church is in a suburban setting in a rich historical area. The church has beginnings in 1840, serving the community of City Point, Virginia in Prince George County. The area became the City Hopewell in the early 20th Century. The city has a diverse population with 85% of the children attending its Public Schools living in poverty. The neighborhood of City Point is also very diverse in it poulation make-up, racially, ethnically, sociao-economic, educationally.

St. John's is Eucharistically centered with services at 8 am on Sundays with Rite I/no music and 10:30 am with Rite II/choir. Sunday school for children is at 10:30 am, but attend services on special occasions. The Church is in Gothic Revival architecture.
