Welcome to St. James Episcopal Church. We are a quaint and friendly church located in the historical community of Cartersville, Virginia. We welcome all Christians and others seeking a closer relationship with God. Located near the Powhatan and Cumberland county line in the village of Cartersville, on the southern side of the James River, our church typically draws parishioners from the Cumberland and Eastern Powhatan communities. An open minded, diverse and friendly parish of all ages, we welcome all Christians to come and share in their faith and devotion to God. Please join us!

Community outreach and fundraising activities include: Brunswick stew, bake sale, chicken BBQ, spaghetti supper, pancake supper, Chilifest, Men's Group monthly dinners, quarterly ECW events and other activities to volunteer at and participate in. Several parish members are also involved with other community volunteer groups such as Garden Club and the Volunteer Rescue Squad. Parish members are also involved with a local community food bank.
