Episcopal and Lutheran (ELCA) sponsored house of Prayer, Listening and Hospitality on the Sicangu Lakota Oyate (Rosebud Reservation) Founded in the summer of 2012 with young people from various backgrounds as a joint project of the Episcopal Diocese and Lutheran (ELCA) Synod of South Dakota, Wopila House seeks to be a relational presence of accompaniment with our Lakota neighbors, inspired by the self-giving, hospitable Way of Jesus. Our community's life is centered on daily prayer together, listening to the voices of those with whom we live, and offering hospitality to those from all walks of life who we encounter.
