St. Philip's Episcopal Church

Share a story

St. Philip’s is a mission within the Diocese of the Rio Grande, which encompasses all of the State of New Mexico and a large part of West Texas. The diocese is part of the Episcopal Church of the U.S.A. which is enjoined with the Worldwide Anglican Communion. This is a democratic denomination, and each member has a vote as to how the church conducts its affairs through a House of Bishops and a House of Delegates, much like the U.S. Congress. Each diocese is led by a bishop, and the head of the denomination is elected as Presiding Bishop every nine years.

St. Philip’s-Rio Communities/ Belen seeks to know Christ and to make Him known. Our liturgy and traditions are foundations on which we base our beliefs that Christ came into this world to save sinners. We do this by recognizing our own sins, repenting, and acting on the teachings of the Gospel, or Good Word. The ways we accomplish our mission: Worship, Fellowship, Outreach,  Service, Growth.
