Grace Episcopal Church

Share a story

Grace Church is a historic parish of The Episcopal Diocese of the Rio Grande in the Chihuahuan Desert region of Southeastern New Mexico. The Episcopal Church traces its origins to The Church of England and The Scottish Episcopal Church with roots in the early, medieval and reformation periods of Christianity in the British Isles. In contemporary terms, The Episcopal Church is the American province of the worldwide Anglican Communion of Churches comprising more than 80 million members in 44 regional and national member churches around the globe in more than 160 countries. Grace parish is proud to count this as part of its spiritual heritage. We are a welcoming and inclusive community in the tradition of The Episcopal Church, presenting a vision of the Christian faith that is relevant and accessible through the lens of common prayer, vibrant fellowship, outreach and radical hospitality. Our liturgical rites are found in the timeless expressions of The Book of Common Prayer which has formed and enriched the worship of the Episcopal Church for centuries. We lift our praise to God each week with music that embraces the full depth and height of the Christian faith while also offering opportunities for quiet contemplation of those same mysteries. Together we continue the mission of proclaiming the transforming love of Christ in Word and Sacrament to the communities of Carlsbad and Eddy County . . . a vision spanning over 125 years. Through Christ, and with Christ, and in Christ, all honor and glory are yours, Almighty God and Father, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, for ever and ever. Amen. (BCP p. 375)
