The Church of the Good Shepherd
Share a story
Planted on the Main Line in 1869, the Church of the Good Shepherd was established to serve the needs of the Episcopal communities between Bryn Mawr and St. Davids. Our 150-year history, one of triumph and tragedy alike, includes the Home and Hospital of the Good Shepherd, the planting of chapels at Radnor and Paoli (now St. Martin's, Radnor and Good Samaritan, Paoli), and support of the St. Luke's Hospital system in the Philippines.
Our intimate, friendly community welcomes you to visit us or worship with us. Our doors are open daily for peace and prayer, and we offer worship opportunities nearly every day.
"In the setting of a rich liturgical and artistic heritage, we seek to know Christ and make Christ known: on the Main Line of Philadelphia, and beyond."

Society of Mary: Ward of Our Lady, Mother of the Good Shepherd
The Ward of Our Lady, Mother of the Good Shepherd is an affiliate of the Society of Mary, an Anglican devotional group whose members seek:
- To love and honor Mary
- To spread devotion to her in reparation for past neglect and misunderstanding, and in the cause of Christian unity.
- To take Mary as a model in purity, personal relationships and family life.
Members of the Society keep a simple Rule of Life, which involves:
- The keeping of Catholic Precepts and use of the Sacraments.
- The regular use of some recommended prayers and devotions to Mary, and a commitment to service, where possible, in the name of the Society.
Each year we try to sponsor 2-3 parish-wide service projects. Our May 2019 campaign, "Our Lady's Larder," yielded nearly 2 dozen bags of lunch supplies for the Ardmore Food Pantry, which is vital during the summer vacation season when school lunches are not available.
