St. Luke's Church

St. Luke's is a mission congregation at the physical intersection of resource and scarcity. It is a bridge in the community where everyone can meet as peers to work together to care for their neighborhood.
Worship times
Volunteer opportunities
We have multiple opportunities every week to serve God's people. They revolve around our feeding ministries and clothing ministries.
Ministries
Community Meal
Community Meal runs every Wednesday from 4-6 PM. Volunteers arrive between 2-3 to help prepare and plate the meal, then serve, spend time with diners, and clean. The computer lab and lounge are also available during these times, so volunteers may also help with those satellite activities.
Your Neighbor's Cloak
Your Neighbor's Cloak receives donations from Episcopal Churches all over our mission area and beyond. They accept all clothing items as well as small home goods, especially focusing on those items that WIC does not cover (pillows, curtains, etc.). The highest demand items are mens' clothing, particularly boxer briefs and socks, but also t-shirts and joggers. We also accept children's toys in good repair and as whole sets. Please, not just one random piece of a hot wheels race track: the whole race track and a few cars.
Volunteers gather ad hoc throughout the week to sort, organize, and clean the store. The store is open and staffed with volunteers every Wednesday from 4-6 PM, concurrent with the Community Meal.
Mobile Pantry
Mobile Pantry runs the second and fourth Monday of every month from 5-7. The first shift of volunteers works 2-4 to repackage the grocery donations from the Greater Cleveland Foodbank. The second shifts of volunteers works 4:45-7 distributing the food to people who walk, bike, and drive up. Both of these shifts involve a moderate to high degree of physical labor, depending on what the food bank sends that day.

AN ALL-HANDS APPROACH TO FEEDING COMMUNITIES
In Ohio, community meal programs were affected by COVID-19 when restaurants shut down and weren’t able to provide their surplus food. The Episcopal Diocese of Ohio found a solution by combining efforts of different diocesan ministries.
