Trinity Episcopal Church is a diverse community of people dedicated to serving others in Christ's name. Our church, built in 1896, is the oldest granite building in Mount Airy. It is modeled after parish churches in England.
Through sensitive pastoral care, individual and common prayer and concern for one another, along with generous outreach to those in need, we seek to spread the good news of God’s reconciling love in Jesus Christ to everyone. We grow together as we study the bible, participate in the sacraments, sing, pray, and worship together. We offer Christian formation opportunities for all ages and fellowship occasions abound.
At Trinity we welcome and cherish children. They are welcome at all our services, and we try our best to give age-appropriate faith formation experiences in an engaging and enjoyable way.
Our members work within a multitude of ministries both as part of the church and individually to express our faith and carrry out Christ's mission in the world. Some examples are listed here.

Staples Food Ministry
The Trinity Church Staples Program has been a welcoming place for the hungry for over thirty years. During 2013, we were able to help feed over 2,400 people in 1,100 households.
We are in partnership with TEFAP (The Emergency Food Assistance Program) where we receive a large percentage of the food that is distributed to our clients. Last year approximately $25,000 in food was received through this program.
In addition, Trinity Church purchased approximately $2,500 worth of food/supplies.
We also receive between 8,000-10,000 pounds of food through private donations. This includes the “Scouting for Food” program sponsored annually by the Boy Scouts food drive, weekly bakery donations from our local Lowes Food Store, food drives sponsored by local companies, and private individual donations.
Hospice Fellowship
From time to time Trinity's cooks serve a lunch at the Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson, NC. This is a deeply appreciated gift and a moving experience for both guests and cooks. Many hands make light work of this event.

Prayer Shawl Ministry
The Prayer Shawl Ministry at Trinity was started several years ago. The participants have knitted and crocheted numerous shawls that have been given to members and close family and friends of our members who have experienced a challenging life event. Sickness and death of a loved one are the primary reasons.
Some of our shawls found homes with homebound patients of Hospice. As a shawl is being made, prayers are prayed: for healing, love, comfort, guidance, hope, compassion, joyfulness and courage. When the recipient gets the shawl, our hope is that as he/she wraps the shawl around them and feels the love of our Lord and of our church family, and finds comfort.
We meet on the 1st Wednesday of each month at 10:00 in the Parlor. If a Wednesday falls on a holiday, we will meet the following Wednesday.
