The Church of the Saviour

Share a story

The Church of the Saviour is an Episcopal church in Jackson, North Carolina. Facing east on Church Street, it is constructed of granite with brownstone delinations, built between 1896 and 1898. It has an entrance tower and separate sacristy on the south. The inside features plaster walls, tiger-oak reredos and scissor trusses. A modern granite wall frames the cemetary, which was designed in 1853.

We are a small mission church in a town of about 400 people. We are a "low church" style of worship, but a vital and joyful community of believers.

The Parish House of the Church of the Saviour, in Jackson, North Carolina, is located south of the church across Calhoun Street. The plain gothic building, of gray siding and white trim, is entered through an attractive Gothic porch. The inside features a large meeting/dining room, two handicapped accessible bathrooms, a kitchen, and a meeting room annex. This building was designed by Shurley Vann in 1990.

The building is used for dinners, group meetings, and social gatherings. We also offer this building to the community for meetings and private functions.
