The only store-front Episcopal Church in Montana, St Stephen's has historically emphasized ministry to the community and has played a significant role in the establishment of a number of social service organizations in Stevensville. Currently our emphasis is on providing information to those who are seeking to age creatively. On the first Friday of the month, in conjunction with the Main Street Association's First Friday Event, we offer a series of seminars on issues facing the elderly. Each month a different topic is explored at our 7:00 PM Unlimited Aging Seminar. Topics range in subject from dealing with dementia in the home, reverse mortgages, legislative updates, hospice, volunteering opportunites, etc.
A small congregation, we gather to worship God every Sunday at 12:00 Noon followed by fellowship and Bible Study. Our liturgical style is fairly informal. We usually have Holy Eucharist every Sunday except the last Sunday of the month, when Morning Prayer is observed. Usually we sing familiar hymns a'capella, hear the Word of God read and proclaimed, and pray for our needs and those of others.
