St Paul's Episcopal Church

Share a story

St. Paul's was the first Episcopal Church founded in the territory by Bishop Tuttle, ca. 1864. The current stone church building was built in 1902 (completed in 1904) and houses Tiffany (or Tiffany-style) windows and a beautiful Estey Pipe Organ. Services have been held continuously from her founding. When the county courthouse caught fire (exact decade not recalled), the church served as a temporary courtroom until restoration of the county building was completed. The church recently had the stain glass windows repaired and cleaned.
