St. Matthew's Church

Orignating at St. Matthew's, Stephen's Table has grown over the last18 years as a collaboration between several churches in the area coordinating at least one free meal per week in their respective Parish Halls for anyone who comes in. We have contracted with Community Action to provide bussing for those who have no transportation. 

It's in the Bag provides a backpack filled with single serving, kid friendly food for seven meals to cover weekends during the school year when there is no access to school breakfast and lunch programs. We pack the backpacks and deliver them to the schools each Wednesday of the school year to be distributed to the children who qualify for the FARM program in the school. We currently provide food for 300 at-risk elementary school kids in 6 schools in Garrett County. Since the program's inception 10 years ago, we have collaborated with other churches in the area and they provide funds and people power to pack and distribute backpacks.

The Nearly New provides low cost household items and clothing to the community and serves as a social gathering place for folks who don't normally get out.
