WE ARE PROUD TO BE KNOWN AS ALL SAINTS’/TODOS LOS SANTOS OF OXNARD, CA

All Saints’/Todos Los Santos is one congregation that happens to speak two languages.  Although our two services each Sunday are in different languages, we come together on a regular basis for worship in bilingual services, ministries and fellowship activities. 

Even when we separate each Sunday for worship (English at 9:15 and Spanish at 11:15), the service booklet is in both languages (English on the left page and Spanish on the right) so we are always aware of the bilingual and multi-cultural nature of our congregation.  Our priest is bilingual, conducting both Sunday services and pastoring to members’ needs in two languages.  This further enforces our sense of one community.   

We are equal partners in the organization and life of our church.  For the past several years we have enjoyed membership on the Vestry with parishioners from both services.  Currently the Senior Warden is from the 9:15 service and the Junior Warden is from the 11:15 service.  Congregants whose first language is Spanish serve together with their English speaking brothers and sisters in leadership roles in the parish as a whole.  

All communications to the congregants are in Spanish and English, including identical weekly announcement sheets and Phone Tree messages.  Parish, diocesan, and community information is displayed on the Parish Hall notice board in two languages, and signage throughout our campus is in English and Spanish.

ESTAMOS ORGULLOSOS DE QUE NOS CONOZCAN CON EL NOMBRE DE  ALL SAINTS’/TODOS LOS SANTOS DE OXNARD, CALIFORNIA

All Saints’/Todos Los Santos es una congregación que por casualidad habla dos idiomas. A pesar de que los dos servicios del domingo se llevan a cabo en dos idiomas distintos, nos reunimos regularmente durante servicios bilingües  de adoración, diversos ministerios y actividades de compañerismo. 

Aun cuando nos separamos cada domingo durante los servicios de adoración (en  inglés a las 9:15 y en español a las 11:15), el folleto del servicio se encuentra impreso en ambos idiomas (inglés del lado izquierdo de la página y  español del lado derecho) de manera que siempre somos conscientes  de que nuestra congregación es  bilingüe y  multicultural por naturaleza.  De igual manera, nuestra presbítera por ser bilingüe, puede oficiar los dos servicios del domingo tanto en inglés como en español y en calidad de pastor, satisfacer las necesidades de los feligreses en ambos idiomas. Esto refuerza aún más el concepto de que somos una sola comunidad.

Somos socios igualitarios en la organización y vida de nuestra iglesia. Durante los últimos años, hemos disfrutado el hecho de contar con miembros de ambas congregaciones en la junta parroquial. Actualmente, la Guardián Mayor pertenece a la congregación de las 9:15 y la Guardián Menor es miembro de la congregación de  las 11:15. Los feligreses cuyo primer idioma es el español prestan sus servicios junto con sus hermanos y hermanas de habla inglesa y desempeñan papeles de liderazgo en la parroquia en general.  

Toda forma de comunicación a lo feligreses se hace en español e inglés, incluso las hojas semanales con anuncios y los mensajes telefónicos a través del Phone Tree. La información sobre la parroquia, la diócesis y la comunidad publicada en el tablero de anuncios del Salón Parroquial se encuentra en los dos idiomas y los rótulos que tenemos por todo nuestro predio también están en inglés y en español.
