Welcome to St Mark’s. I do hope that you will come and visit us in person. As followers of Christ, within the Anglican tradition, we strive to build up a loving community that will be a beacon of love and hope to our world.
We are a diverse and friendly congregation trying to welcome everyone as we would welcome Jesus. Join us as we reach out in joy into the world and in the name of Jesus to be of help to others. We take our ministry seriously, but also cherish hearty fellowship, and try not to take ourselves too seriously!
Come and see. Come and visit. Come and participate in our worship, care for the Islip community and beyond, and fellowship. We have regular activities for all ages!

St. Mark's Thrift Shop
The St. Mark’s Thrift Shop has a storied history. Started 40 years ago by one person, it was a
tiny, 300-square-foot space located in an office corner. To enter, you had to go through a side
door and walk down a long hallway. What you see now was the rector’s garage. As the St. Mark’s Thrift Shop became more well-known, it grew to approximately 3700-square-feet that includes floor space and a separate storage and work area. The area that was once the rector’s garage was given to the Thrift Shop in the early 2000s. It is now the main entrance. Sales doubled, tripled and sometimes even quadrupled every ten years. All sales proceeds go to the church and its outreach programs. A large percentage of donated goods are given away to other churches and agencies in the area, as there is not enough space to sell them here. The all-volunteer staff of nearly 50 mans the store, continually straightens merchandise, sorts and re-stocks shelves at least twice a day. A complete seasonal changeover takes place twice a year. “I like coming here because it feels like I’m going to Macys or some other retail outlet, not a thrift store,” two ladies were once overheard whispering.
Growing Faith
Our Sunday morning ministry to elementary grades students. We meet in All Souls' Chapel for ~40 min., after being the first to receive Holy Communion. One Sunday each month is designated 'Growing Faith Sunday' and features these young people serving in worship as acolytes, lectors, ushers, singers: whatever they'd like to be a part of.
