St. James' Episcopal Church

Share a story

Saint James’ Parish has been serving our community since it was founded in 1913. We are celebrated our centennial in 2013 and will be 1010 in 2023.

The History Committee, chaired by Jo Piltz, has put together this wonderful document on our 100 year history of ministry on the Big Island.

St. Columba's, Pa'auilo

At the heart of our worship life is the Holy Eucharist (also called Communion, Mass, and the Lord’s Supper). Our worship is grounded on the two pillars of Word and Sacrament. Through scripture and preaching, through prayer and proclamation, the offering of beautiful music, and through the sharing of holy food and drink, we respond thankfully to God’s love for us in Christ.
