St. Alban’s is a smaller but vibrant church. We are a diverse group, reflecting the neighborhood we live in. Sitting in our pews are young adults, families with children, empty-nesters, and seniors.
In 2015 we celebrsted the 50th anniversary of the founding of our parish. The congregations of Grace Episcopal Church which was established in 1885 and St. John’s Episcopal Mission which was established in 1872 came together in 1965 to form St. Alban’s in the building which was formerly Grace Episcopal Church.
Worship at St. Alban’s is in the traditional style, using Rite II in the Book of Common Prayer. St. Alban’s is the proud steward of an historic Skinner pipe organ which is currently undergoing stages of restoration and greatly enhances our worship services.

Reading Camp
Reading Camp is a one-week day camp focusing on first, second and third graders who have been identified by their teachers as having reading difficulties. Each full day session is composed of academic work in the morning and field trips in the afternoon. Children are given breakfast, lunch, and snacks during the day. The camp is free for students and the program is run by volunteers.
Mission Trips
Volunteers from our congregation and others travel to the Cheyenne River Indian Reservation in South Dakota where they assist with construction, repair, and educational projects during the summer.
Adult Education
Opportunities for learning and fellowship are plentiful at St. Alban's. A weekday Bible study meets during the school year. Soup Supper and Study at 6 meets weekly except during the summer months. Food, Fellowship, and Fun meets monthly during the summer.
Youth Group
Our Youth Group is small, but very active. They volunteer as "amigos" to the students of Reading Camp in the summer. They prepare and serve breakfast to the congregation on Easter. Three of the youth attended the EYE gathering in Philadelphia in 2014. Once monthly the youth participate in "Youth Sunday" where they assume the roles of ushers and greeters, lectors and intercessors, in addition to being crucifers and acolytes.
Community Garden
Plans are being developed for the creation in 2016 of a community garden for the benefit of our neighborhood.
Give Hope
Once a Month (3rd Monday) we give away a shelf stable meal to be prepared by the recipient. Each meal is intended to feed 4. We also receive items from Hidden Harvest to add to the giveaway. It is open to anyone who needs help stretching their food dollar. Recipients come to the parish hall level at either 1-3 pm or 5-7 pm.
Blessing Box
Outside, on the Wenona side of our building we have a 4 drawer file cabinet (Blessing Box). We stock it with canned goods, dry goods and some personal care items. It is available 24/7 to help those in our community who need food. In addition to St. Alban's stocking it several community members come and add to the box as they are able.
