We are the "Church on the Square" Christ Church was built on land purchased from AL & BO Williams, brother, (founders/developers of Owosso) in 1859. The land was orginally set aside by the Williams brothers as a town square named Fayette Square - honoring Marq.de LaFayette. The original church was laid out north and south. In 1890, the church was enlarged to its present cruciform configuration. The bell tower was orignally constructed with a massive spire and was destroyed by a tornado on November 11, 1911.
