Volunteer opportunities
St. James the Less has a long history of caring for people in our community. Not only do we give our our treasure, but we also give of our time and talent. In addition to the "hands on" activities list below, we also raise money through our Beatles Mass and our Lobsterfest to support this ministries as well as others including: A Just Harvest, Rogers Park; Episcopal Charities in Chicago; Episcopal Relief and Development, a part of the national church; St. Leonard's Ministries, Chicago; Holy Family Ministries, Chicago; and Bishop Anderson House, Chicago.

Community Garden
We provide fresh fruits and vegetable to the Northfield Township Food Pantry from our Community Garden.
Northfield Township Food Pantry
In addition to the fresh food we are able to provide during the summer months, we also collect non-perishable items and deliver them regularly to the Food Pantry.
Education for Toliara
We sponsor the education of children in our link Parish of Amboasary, through the Diocesan Toliara Child program, and through a school supplies program. You can give to either program (or both!) through St James the Less.
Revive Center for Housing and Healing
Each December parishioners adopt a family for whom to buy Christmas gifts. We also conduct an annual coat drive.
Quilts Beyond Borders
Members of St. James the Less sew quilts given to orphans and children in need around the world.
International Relationships
Parish of Amboasary
St James the Less is linked with the Parish of Amboasary, in the south of the Episcopal Diocese of Toliara, Madagascar. Members of our parish have visited the Diocese, assisting with projects and teaching. Each year, a portion of our outreach money goes to the Diocese of Toliara.
